Well, a lot has happened in just a few short weeks. I’ve kicked off a new feature, Scenic Sundays, and I took the giant leap over to a WordPress self-hosted site. I’m still finding my feet in this new venue, but so far so good.

Thanks to the Review-a-thon hosted by The Book Vixen I was able to catch up on my book reviews and getting them scheduled. I can now safely post 2 reviews a week from now until the end of the year. Of course, every week is in flux as I help promote books and authors I find eye-catching.

I’ve made some great progress on my GoodReads Challenge. After stalling out on the 2014 TBR Challenge and the bingo card challenge I was participating in, I think in 2015 I’ll stick with the just the GoodReads Challenge. I’m too much of a mood reader to tackle my TBR pile–sometimes I just need a new book. Ah, the smell…*sighs* That should make these updates a bit easier in the next year.

The State of Second Run Reviews
As of September 14, 2014, here where things stand with Second Run Reviews. I really love seeing the love on Facebook and Twitter. It’s been fun promoting authors and other bloggers via social media.

So how are you doing with your reading goals? I’m continuing to read books, but not necessarily those that were in my TBR pile at the start of the year. I need to fix that. If you are a blogger, what is the state of your blog?

  1. Love your update posts with stats 🙂 I quit doing challenges earlier this year, but just yesterday I decided to jump back in with one challenge that I created myself-to read through the entire Printz Award winner/honorable mention list. It will be a few years probably before I complete it though lol.

    • Thanks, Finley Jayne. It’s kind of fun, in this first year of blogging, to see the number of followers I have.

You’ve got scheduled review till the end of the year!! I admire you, Terri. I haven’t got the next week planned out. I have so many reviews to write but my inspiration is not with me today. Also you’re doing great with Goodreads challenge and it’s actually the only one I always tacke, this is 3rd year in row 😀 Great post, Terri 🙂

    • I love the GoodReads Challenge. I’m not sure why I’m so fired up about that one! 🙂

I only post one review a week. That was my goal when I started the blog. 🙂

Even at just one review a week, it’s still impressive that you have reviews scheduled through the end of the year. I took on too many reading challenges this year and I’ve stalled on the bingo card one too. I need to pare down next year.

    • It’s good to find limits and what works. One review a week allows some flexibility in my schedule to do promos, memes and other features.
