A few weeks ago I posted a picture of a squirrel that I snapped while visiting Central Park a couple of years ago. Here’s further proof that I can speak to animals…well, squirrels as least.

This picture was snapped at Cedar Memorial. Yes, a cemetery. I have a weird fascination with them. The large cemetery near my home has a lovely pond with ducks, geese and swans. The squirrels venture in around feeding time and become curious about the interloping humans with cameras and no food.

Perhaps my spirit animal is a squirrel, not a horse or a cat.

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t after you.

    • What’s really funny is that as I was taking this photo another photographer who was part of the outing was shooting a picture of me taking THAT picture. I wasn’t able to find it before posting today. However, I have a couple other great shots of this squirrel that are sure to pop up here at some point and hopefully I’ll locate that image by then.

  1. So cute! We used to feed a squirrel and a chipmunk (don’t know if they were the same ones, my son when younger, swore they were) in our backyard when we lived in a rural area. They did get quite bold, and the squirrel used to run down the tree to scold my dogs when let out back, and then took revenge on us by chewing the ropes to the hammock, but not all the way through. My mother was visiting and sat on the hammock and from her weight it snapped and she fell on her bottom! It’s a story we still remember fondly 🙂

    • Squirrels who are well fed are quite brave! Thanks for stopping by!

That is an awesome picture! I wish I could get pictures that good of my puppies. 🙂

    • Treats, a tripod and a shutter release. 🙂 My cats have gotten used to my camera and my phone popping up.
