Oh, this is coming in right at the wire. I had all intentions of getting this post written earlier, but I got busy with life and work and then vacation. So here I am, throwing my hat into the proverbial ring right for the #COYER Summer Reading Challenge.

I did so well with #COYER during the winter, I’m looking forward to the summer challenge and have decided to take on the Reading List Challenge.

From the #COYER Summer Reading List Rules

  • If you want to join the Summer Reading List. Make a list in a Goodreads Shelf or your Blog of 30 books that you want to read. You must pick 30 and you must link it in your sign-up. This is your summer reading list (you do NOT have to read all 30 books, don’t panic) (the books added to your list must be books that you already have)
  • You have from now until June 17th to make the list, when COYER starts you can not change the list. For every 5 books you read, you can add 5 more to the list (this is for all you mood readers). You can read as much as you want from the list. If you only read one, that is totally fine you can enter the giveaway at the end stating you only read one.

Books I Read (or Attempted to Read) from My Summer Reading List

Yes, “attempted to read” because that counts. I at least try and, of course, fail horribly to connect with some books and finish them.

  6. Read! The Orphan’s Tale by Pam Jenoff.

    • Finding Clockwork Angels in my eBook collection was a happy accident as I spoke with Mr. Anderson at Phoenix ComiCon and he convinced me to purchase Clockwork Lives. He said you didn’t NEED to read Clockwork Angels to understand Clockwork Lives, but I’m glad I can read both!
  20. Read! I Shall Be Near to You by Erin Lindsay McCabe
    • COYER Read-a-thon eBooks and audiobooks only (August 21 to August 28)
  21. Abandoned! Radio Girls by Sarah-Jane Stratford (Penguin First Reads)

    • If I can get this ARC in a more readable format, I may give it another go. However, I tried reading it in three different apps on my iPad mini 2 and found the small print indecipherable.
  26. Read! Serenity by Craig A. Hart

Books Added to My Summer Reading List

From the COYER Challenge Rules: For every 5 books you read, you can add 5 more to the list (this is for all you mood readers).

A Change in Plans

I had planned to add Clockwork Lives by Kevin J. Anderson to my list, but I finished Clockwork Angels so late in the challenge and found it incredibly dull, I think I’ll wait a bit before attempting Clockwork Lives.

I had planned to add Becoming Moon by Craig A. Hart, but I finished Serenity so late in the game, it wasn’t worth adding it to the list. Maybe I’ll get it read next #COYER!

    • I bought The Girl Who Drank the Moon during that YA Lit sale Amazon.com had during their 12 Days of Christmas event. I’ll admit I went a click crazy that Sunday. I read Barnhill’s Iron-Hearted Violet so I was excited to get a copy of The Girl Who Drank the Moon and then it won the Newberry! Definitely need to get that one read!

  1. Good luck, Terri! I’m happy you’re joining in COYER again and that you took on making “the list”! 😉 I’m participating but I’m just reading all the books I can. 🙂 I look forward to seeing your thoughts on your list books but particularly The Falconer and Adoring Outlander. 😉
