In the Spotlight feature kicked off in April 2015 and is an opportunity for authors, editors and publishers (basically anyone in the book industry (yes, even bloggers!)) to connect with fans. There is an option to do an interview, guest post, feature a book sale or book release or a cover reveal. Best of all, it’s free! All you need to do is click on the image to reserve your spot!
Now on with the show!
In the Spotlight with Noelle Bodhaine!
Welcome to Second Run Reviews, Noelle! Thank you for being In the Spotlight. I appreciate you stopping by and answering a few questions. So let’s get things started.
In a tweet (140 characters or less), tell us a bit about yourself.
Historical Podcasts, Kristen Ashley on Audible, Bourbon, Cheese, sexy, Intelligent men who make me laugh and bring me to my knees, these are a few of my favorite things.
I’m a huge fan of “whiskers on kittens and brown paper packages tied up with string” myself. 😉
Please tell a bit about your journey to becoming a published author. What’s been the best things about it and the worst?
I had always written stories and narrated fantasies for my friends when we were younger. I wrote my first book Whisper late at night while my babies slept. I found 1 amazing beta (I had no idea what a beta was at the time); she read and loved my Rhys and encouraged me every step of the way.
I think the best thing is having an outlet for what’s been going on in my head. I love getting the story out, I love living with these people and I love sharing them! The second best has been all the amazing women I have met and now admire and aspire to. The community and connections I’ve made have changed my life and for that I will always be grateful.
I agree with you on the community and connections. Some of the best people I have met since starting my blog in 2013 are those in the writing community.
Tell us a bit about your latest release. What inspired you to write it? Why should fans of Second Run Reviews consider reading it.
My most recent release was The Curve and Makayla has lived in my head for a very long time. When I finished the trilogy I was terrified that I would be empty but Makayla stepped forward and started talking. She is a girl born of speed, I have always fancied myself a secret race car driver. I love cars and speed and Top Gear and I was fascinated by F1 [Formula 1] so I wrote about it. Any reason to do research is a good reason!
Ah, that’s the key to getting to Scotland for me then? Claiming it as a research trip for blogging. Got it!
What types of books do you enjoy reading the most? What three books to you find yourself recommending to your fans over and over?
What is your current obsession? Any secret obsessions you would like to share?
I am currently obsessed with my current WIPS, my mind is immersed. I have also recently started doing aerial yoga…it’s a young obsession but a growing one. For relief…my guilty pleasure is Bravo.
Aerial yoga? What? I’ve been doing yoga off and on since 2002. That sounds super cool. I’ve made a note to ask you about that next time!
What is one question you wish I would have asked, that I haven’t?
I’m not wearing any 😉
*stutters* *blushes* *pulls mind out of gutter*
Honestly, in the 2 years I have been doing this feature THAT is the best response I’ve received to that question.
Any last thoughts or wise words you want to pass along?
Read! Read! Read! And then read some more and then review! Please. There are so many amazing talents out there just waiting to be found and reviews are like a golden trail leading readers to the treasure. Love an author, leave a review.
This is a dream profession for me, to share stories and heartache and triumph, To dig deep into people’s hearts and minds and be a part of their day is an amazing honor. One I cherish and have no plans of giving up. There are so many stories in this head of mine and new ones springing to life every day due to the inspiration of the awe inspiring talent around me. I plan on filling your kindles and book shelves for as long as my fast little fingers will allow.
Always spay and neuter your pets! Goodnight Gracie.
Noelle, it’s been a pleasure to have you In the Spotlight. I hope you’ll come back soon to tell us about your next WIP, aerial yoga and fill in the blank about what you are not wearing. Thank you and good luck in all your future endeavours.
Synopsis: We had everything, until the curve took him from us. I am Makayla Love and I was born to race. Fuel flows in these veins. Ever since I could walk I’ve wanted to drive. Ever since I was 12 I’ve loved Kelley.
I almost had everything, until the curve took them from me.
I am Kelley Quinn and I am a driver. I master curves, speed is my religion. There is no greater rush than the track, until she drifted back into my life.
The straight is all about speed, but life is lived in the curves. Lived in the twists and turns and uncertainty of what lies around the corner. The curve could spell disaster or lead you home. But you’ll never know until you wrap your hands tightly around the wheel and drive.
