I don’t have much to say this weekend. I started getting sick again this week. Now instead of being stuffed up, I have a hacking cough. This being sick or injured thing is getting a little old. As we inch closer to fall, I’ve been reflecting fondly on our trip to Niagara Falls. This is one of many flower pictures I shot during our week long stay in the area. The bright color and fly make me long for the warmer weather of spring and summer. I love spring and summer because I spend some time outside reading on my deck, drinking homemade iced coffees in the morning and hours riding Jezebel. What’s your favorite season? What are your fondest memories of that season?
Last weekend we took a little road trip to Minneapolis to see my brother and his family and celebrate my nephew’s 4th birthday. Great time was had by all and I’m sure I’ll share some of the photos later, but I’ve been “lazy” this week. When I woke up on Sunday morning in the hotel, I wasn’t feeling well. I was still tired and my throat hurt. I ended up sleeping most of the drive home and then it just got progressively worse as the week went on. Despite being sick, waking up to kitty cuddles does bring a smile to my face.
As I sit here on this rain soaked Saturday morning, I feel a change coming on. I’m not sure if it is related to the fact school is back in session and that fall is right around the corner or if there is something stirring deep in my soul. But something different. This summer has been a whirlwind. I feel like I’ve barely had time to breath. We started off June with seeing the final two shows of TCR’s 2014-2015 season and then we were off to Niagara Falls for a week and a half. We got back and I jumped back into ICON 40 Planning and then it was my birthday, my niece and nephew came for 2.5 days, I seriously strained my back and I flew off to L.A. for work. I’ve been antsy for the last 3 weeks. My activities (including sleeping!) have been limited due to the strain. I’m watching the weather get colder and I’ve spent hardly any time at the Barn with Jezebel. Before you know it, I’ll only be able to ride in circles and figure 8s in the indoor arena. It’s nearly September. Twenty-fifteen is nearly over. And like a old woman, […]
