Overwhelmed. Like the main character in the novel, Sunday, I was overwhelmed by everything going on in this novel. There was too much going on…too many characters, too many fairy tales mashed together, too many unexplained character and world histories…that I struggled to keep it all straight.

The world was very beautifully rendered and the characters were compelling, but with all the twists and turns, forcing me to reread entire pages, I was really challenged to finish this novel. I wish the author would have scaled back a bit and given me a chance to get to know the characters and the world a bit more be throwing the everything and the kitchen sink into the plot.

    • Now that I listen to audiobooks more frequently I often wonder if some books might be better listened to.

Oh boo that this one was a thumbs down. It has a cool premise. But with too much going on and too many stories stuck together, this definitely doesn’t sound like a well plotted book.

    • I remember being really excited when I first heard about this one. But in the end, it just wasn’t for me.
