I made it a whole year. My first (and only) movie review posted a year ago today. The movie involved two of my favorite things…time travel and romance. It also didn’t have complicated rules. The message of the movie was about making the most of your life and enjoying the time you have been given with the people that mean the most to you. The movie wasn’t getting much press and I had to share my love for the story and the music. And with that Second Run Reviews was off and running.

My first book review was of Traveler by Dennis W. Green. I met Dennis at ICON 38 and loved his unique take on the typical crime novel. After the sneak peak of the sequel to Traveler at ICON 39 in November, I’m can’t wait for the next, somewhat steamier, installment of Trav Becker’s life.

I’ve come a long way. I’ve learned a lot. I’ve met a lot of people—bloggers and authors. The most important things I’ve learned are not to worry about the stats and the page views. And as cliched as it is, Shakespeare said it best…

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell, my blessing season this in thee!

So I hope you’ll join in me in celebrating. I hope you’ll join me on the next adventure of keeping Second Run Reviews up and running for another year. A year that might see me begging for books and hopefully more than a single movie review. Cheers!

  17. Hi I saw that you posted on Berls blog about your Mypoints account I was wondering how that website works? Is it completely free and you redeem the points when you have enough?

Congrat’s on your one year anniversary. I’m almost to year two. Blogging is so much fun. I’m glad you are enjoying your time. My advice is to continue blogging the way you want to blog and not stressing out.

  18. Advice for making it through your second year … well… just have fun. Blog what you want to blog about when you want to blog. I am surprised you have only been blogging one year. Great job!! It seems like you have been blogging longer. Can’t wait to see what you have in store in the year to come.
