This picture was taken at The Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This image showcases the starbursts that happen when your f-stop is set to 11. One of my favorite effects that is easily done with just a quick adjustment. And since I have yet to master taking night shots as I love sleep and hate the cold, this is the closest picture I have of the stars.

Taken on September 15, 2013 with a Canon Rebel T3i.

“One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don’t throw it away.” Stephen Hawking

It’s hard to believe I have posted nearly 30 Scenic Sundays. It’s been great to share some of my favorite quotes and pictures with you. In a couple weeks (when Scenic Sunday #30 posts), I’ll be hosting a giveaway. You will have a chance to win a framed Scenic Sunday image of your choice.

  1. That’s so cool Terri! So the stars aren’t actually there, but part of your camera’s setting? Wow! And I love that quote so true! Congrats on almost 30 – I love this feature!

    • Yep, it’s one of the simplest adjustments for a pretty cool effect. F22 will provide the same results and you can do this with most light sources. It’s fun to do it at dusk with street lights.
