So my goal this year to live within my passions. The next step is to connect that with a purpose. I’m lucky enough to work in one Blue Zone and live in another. The cool thing is that I have the opportunity to take part in some pretty cool FREE workshops. This past week I took part in a “Finding Your Purpose Workshop.”

While I didn’t find the workshop overall inspiring, I did have fun going through this deck of cards and picking out gifts that I’m drawn to. For those of you who have been following me for awhile. These 5 things…listed from left to right as the most important to the not so important…are what drive me to do what I do every day.

finding your purpose

Taken a Lovely Lane Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, IA on January 19, 2016 with an iPhone 5s.

The goal after picking your gifts was to craft a purpose statement. I was able to connect my purpose with most of my passions. Here’s what I came up with.

With my gifts for organizing things, discovering resources, investigating things and problem solving, I will write and create resources for fellow writers (this includes bloggers!) to improve upon their skills and market their work in a more effective manner.

Now I need to figure out how to make money doing that. Any ideas?

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.” Audrey Hepburn

Scenic Sundays was inspired by the last couple of minutes on CBS Sunday Morning and was created in part to help encourage me to share more of my photography.

  1. How neat to have access to such workshops, Terri. I’m kinda envious. But thankful that you’re going to share your talents here for my (and other writers) benefit. 😀

    • If you live near a community college you might see if they offer similar courses as continuing education credits. Sometimes they are quite inexpensive and sometimes, if you the company you work for offers tuition reimbursement, you might be able to get your money back. 🙂

  2. Looking forward to the future posts/resources that this inspires you to share 🙂 I love watching you follow your passions and seeing how you are going to focus more on them. It’s very inspiring.
