Well, it’s finally 2016. I’ve been waiting for it for a couple of weeks. I needed a fresh start and a new perspective after a rocky finish to 2015 (see here). On New Year’s Day I participated in a yoga workshop. I’ve been doing yoga off and on since 2002. This past year they started offering class over the lunch hour at work and I immediately jumped in. It’s been a bright spot in my 9-to-5 job; I even went in on my day off JUST to do yoga.

Anyway, so I participated in this 2-hour long yoga workshop yesterday. The class started off with burning a piece of paper that had something we wanted to move on or leave behind in 2015. On a second slip of paper we wrote a goal or intention for 2016 and tucked it under the corner of our mat for the entire practice. I wrote…

Pretty big intention, right? And then I started thinking while preparing this post, what are my passions? And that’s this week’s picture. They say if you make your New Year’s Resolutions public, share them with others, that you are more likely to meet and maintain that goal. Since books and the blogging community are part of my passions, I’m sharing my intention with all of you.

I wish you all the best in 2016. And keep an eye on Scenic Sundays. I hope to share my journey towards living within my passions here.

Scenic Sundays was inspired by the last couple of minutes on CBS Sunday Morning and was created in part to help encourage me to share more of my photography.

  1. A great intention! is there another way to live? 🙂 I’m glad you were eable to fit yoga in your life again. I love yoga and I haven’t been able to do for about two years now. 🙁 Hope I can go back this year

  2. I love how you represented all your passions in a pic!!
Wanna link this up to my #GratitudeGoals linky on my other blog?

    • I was concerned that I really didn’t get everything and then I realized, I kind of did! There’s no representation of photography…but it’s a picture I took. And there’s no overt reference to Doctor Who, but then I realized the sapphire necklace (a gift from my husband years ago) is close to TARDIS blue. Even though I took the picture, I was discovering things about it as I wrote the post.

I would love to link up to your Gratitude post. What’s the link?

  3. This is such a neat post, Terri. I love the pic. And I wish you luck living within your passions. I hope to do the same. 🙂 We can cheer each other on. Happy 2016! Oh, and I also love your ‘new’ look. Very nice!

  4. Living within your passions is such a great way to live! And I love how your photo captures them all. I’ve always wanted to try yoga and I hope to make that happen in 2016. Good luck with your goals, it sounds like you will have a very fulfilling 2016 😀
