I love sunrises.
I hate mornings.
Sleep is a wonderful thing. It resets your life (most of the time). It’s like the human equivalent of a power switch on your favorite electronic device. Ah, sleep…*yawns*…all things lead to sleep.
But reseting your life can be an amazing thing and we (most of the time) get to do it every day. We can lay down at night and get a fresh start to the day. In spring and summer, the day is bathed in dew like the Earth took a bath overnight and is presenting itself to us in a new light every morning. Amazing, right?
Of course, the key is to look at the new day with a positive light. For me, seeing a beautiful sunrise or seeing a bird or animal I don’t normal see on my way to work brightens my day. A cup of my favorite coffee in hand also helps.
This week, I challenge you to find one positive thing during your morning routine. It might be a beautiful sunrise or seeing a robin grabbing that first worm. Or perhaps it will just be the fact you woke up. (Some days are like that, I know.) Whatever that positive moment is, when you find it, stop, close your eyes and cherish it. Just take 10 seconds. And remind yourself of this week’s quote.
