I love sunrises.

I hate mornings.

Sleep is a wonderful thing. It resets your life (most of the time). It’s like the human equivalent of a power switch on your favorite electronic device. Ah, sleep…*yawns*…all things lead to sleep.

But reseting your life can be an amazing thing and we (most of the time) get to do it every day. We can lay down at night and get a fresh start to the day. In spring and summer, the day is bathed in dew like the Earth took a bath overnight and is presenting itself to us in a new light every morning. Amazing, right?

Of course, the key is to look at the new day with a positive light. For me, seeing a beautiful sunrise or seeing a bird or animal I don’t normal see on my way to work brightens my day. A cup of my favorite coffee in hand also helps.

This week, I challenge you to find one positive thing during your morning routine. It might be a beautiful sunrise or seeing a robin grabbing that first worm. Or perhaps it will just be the fact you woke up. (Some days are like that, I know.) Whatever that positive moment is, when you find it, stop, close your eyes and cherish it. Just take 10 seconds. And remind yourself of this week’s quote.

  1. There is something about the sun rising or, in my case, setting up. My whole WIP is around Sunsets LOL How about that for inspiration! Sunsets inspired a WHOLE BOOK! Sundays morning routine are one of my favorite because I sip coffee while visiting my favorite blogs and ready their Sunday Posts. I love to find inspirational posts like this one! Thanks Terri!

    • A whole book about sunsets? Awesome. I have way more pictures of sunsets because I’m up and awake at that time.

Glad you found this week’s post inspirational. 🙂

(FYI, I updated your email address so you would get replies to your comment. A couple of the letters were transposed. You can unsubscribe if you want.)

    • Sleep is amazing. I was able to sleep into today. It was so nice. Usually I’m up at the crack of dawn, but today, I guess, my body decided that slumbering for a few more hours would be fine.

  2. I love that quote and I’m ok with mornings (once I’m out of bed!). I’m actually more of a morning person than a night person anyway. But looking for the positive in everything, always appeals to me. And I’m lucky that I have a short but scenic drive to work and I usually take the time to notice just how pretty everything is looking, whether it’s frost on a branch in winter or the bluebells that are flowering in the ditches at the moment. Those things just make me happy. As does belting out a tune at the top of my lungs to the car radio 🙂

    • Ah, yes, car concerts. Definitely a favorite of mine in the summer. Right now I’m jamming to Hamilton on my drives. What are some of your favorites to listen to on your drive, Trish?

      • I love Hamilton too, like really love it, bordering on obsessed! I also love Coldplay, The Killers, Calvin Harris and so many others. I just make up random playlists on spotify and stick those on.

        • I’ll admit I get pretty stuck. Last year, after the Outlander soundtrack (part 1 and part 2 was released) that’s all I listened to when I blogged. Right now Hamilton is all I listen to every where and any where I can. Today was not a good day so I had it blasting in my car. The Rise Up chorus really called to my soul and I wanted to put just THAT bit on repeat over and over again.

    • I think I’m not an any time kind of person. I don’t like the morning. Not a fan of the afternoon (things usually go wrong at work in the afternoons). And I feel so rushed in the evenings. 🙂 It’s tough, but I try to be positive about each one when I can!

  3. I am both a night owl and morning person who survives because of afternoon naps. My favorite thing about both is the quiet, just me my coffee, and the sunrise. Love your photos, the colors of the sky are gorgeous.

    • I love naps. I take lots of naps on the weekend. We have a rule though, if I’m not up by 4 PM, my husband must wake me up. 🙂

Thank you for the compliment on the photo. I found it while digging around my photos. It’s an old Instagram photo I had when I first got an account.
