In the Spotlight with Tricia Andersen
Battling Writer’s Block
It’s deadline time again and I’m sitting here staring at the screen. It’s happened again. Writer’s Block. Even with an interview I get struck with it.
I’ve been an author for five years now and I’ve heard many different theories on Writer’s Block. I know of writers who believe that it’s just a myth. I don’t know if they’ve ever experienced that cold dread of an empty mind and a blank document on the screen staring at them. If they’ve never had that happen to them I am envious. And a little perturbed. I might just have to find these people. I wonder how much they know about werewolves and MMA…
Anyway, I digress.
To me, Writer’s Block is very real. Fortunately, it only comes to make my life a living hell when I have a deadline looming overhead (like I do right now). Maybe it’s the pressure to churn out a book just as good as the last. Maybe it’s just the sheer exhaustion of wearing a thousand hats all at the same time.
All I do know is that I’m staring at an empty page, my mind is a total blank and I’m pretty sure my muse is off having a party without me instead of doing his job.
So thank you to Terri for having me back. I appreciate it so much. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back to writing.
