Valentine’s Mini Challenge #04: Love Triangles

Valentine’s Mini Challenge #04: Love Triangles

The Valentine’s Mini Challenge is a Parajunkee.com Adventure running February 10th through February 14th. Valentine’s Mini Challenge #4: Love-triangles. The Ones that worked for you, The ones that didn’t. The One that Worked: Bill, Sookie and Eric in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I could understand why Sookie would be torn between Bill and Eric–the Southern Gentleman vs. the Southern Bad Boy. Although, I’ve always felt that if Sookie was going to choose a vampire, she should have picked Bill. He always, in the novels, had Sookie’s best interests at heart. The One that Didn’t: Most love triangles in Young Adult fiction really bother me. When I was a teenager, I wish I was as lucky as some of the main female characters in YA Fiction to have 2 guys drooling over me. The love-triangles in the Twilight series really creep me out. I’m not sure why because the same reason it creeps me out (the age factor) doesn’t creep me out when it comes to Sookie, Eric and Bill. Maybe it is because Bella is still a teenager when the series starts out. Oh, and don’t get me started on Jacob’s obsession with Bella and then his sudden obsession with […]

Valentine’s Mini Challenge #03: The Cheesiest Romance Scenes

Valentine’s Mini Challenge #03: The Cheesiest Romance Scenes

The Valentine’s Mini Challenge is a Parajunkee.com Adventure running February 10th through February 14th. Valentine’s Mini Challenge #3: The CHEESIEST ROMANCE scenes or topics you have read in a book. I really struggled with the relationship in “The Minute” by Aaron Dietz. The character building in this short story was a bit on the weak side. As a result, the romantic stuff that happens feels like that awkward first kiss you see in movies where the two characters involved seem put everybody part in the wrong place. As result, the relationship feels forced and you can’t see the true love between them. What are the CHEESIEST ROMANCE scenes or topics you have read in a book? Share below in comments. Valentine’s Mini Challenge #02: The HOTTEST Scene You Have Ever Read

Valentine’s Mini Challenge #02: The HOTTEST Scene You Have Ever Read

The Valentine’s Mini Challenge is a Parajunkee.com Adventure running February 10th through February 14th. Valentine’s Mini Challenge #2: The HOTTEST Scene You Have Ever Read I don’t read a lot of romance novels. I just finished Rainbow Rowell’s Eleanor & Park. The moment when Eleanor & Park make out in the backseat of his mother’s Impala is pretty steamy. I guess I don’t need that overdramatic sex scene where the author comes up with awkward synonyms for sexual organs. Or maybe I need to get out more if I find the makeout scene in a young adult novel hot. What’s the HOTTEST scene you have ever read? Share below in comments.
