The Sunday Post #38: Week of August 24, 2014

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. What’s Waiting in the WingsWell, change is a blown’ in the wind, folks. If you’ve following along this week, you know this is the last week for my contribution to The Sunday Post. I felt inspired after my feature on Gin’s Book Review and Day 6 of the Back to School Challenge to create a new feature. I’ve been a photographer for several years and have accumulated 1000s of photos. And since I started blogging, I’ve gotten away from taking pictures and sharing my photography. So drawing from the last 2-3 minutes of Sunday Morning on CBS, I will be starting Scenic Sundays on September 7. I will share one picture I have taken (it might look professional, it might not) and pair it along with a quote. No muss, no fuss–just a picture and a few words to get your week started right. You are welcome to join me on this journey. You can link up each week or you can subscribe to Second Run Reviews or you can just drop by each Sunday and see what’s shakin’. Oh, and don’t worry, I still plan to […]

The Sunday Post #37: Week of August 17, 2014 + Back to School Blogger Challenge Day 07

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. How’s it going everyone? I’ve been having a great time this week with the Back to School Book Blogger Challenge sponsored by Parajunkee. Have you been participating? What have been some of your favorite posts so far? There’s only a couple of days left and we’ll be back to our regular schedule.Back to School Day 07 Question: What are the most inspiring books you’ve read that have been assigned to you?Honestly, none. There’s not a single reading assignment that inspired me. The people who taught me literature inspired me to be a reader and pursue English as a major in college. But no single reading assignment was influential in me being a reader. Sad, I know. But it is people and the discussion surrounding those assignments that inspired me to want to read and discuss more not the actual readings themselves. The Sunday Post #36: Week of August 10, 2014

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It was a rough week in the real world, folks. I’m gonna be honest. Stress central here at Second Run Reviews. I’m working on a big project at work that won’t be wrapped for 2 more weeks! I’m counting the days. Plus one of my good work friends is moving on and pursuing her dream so I’m a little bummed about that. Her dream is to be an author full-time. While her leaving behind her day job and working with me daily makes me sad, the fact she is leaving for her dream job makes me extraordinarily happy. In other good news this week, I’m being featured over at Gin’s Book Notes. Thank you to Gin for hosting me. It’s been a lot of fun and I’ll hope everyone who stops by today will drop by her blog, too! The Sunday Post #35: Week of August 4, 2014

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.I think I’m still recovering from my trip to Atlanta and from reading/finishing what I am calling The Most Depressing Book on the Face of the Planet. Seriously, folks, I think I’m going to have to go into therapy after reading The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb! Now I’ve jumped over to the complete opposite and am reading Divine Misfortune by A Lee Martinez. I needed to laugh again after 700 pages of almost pure sadness. I’ve been on the road most of the day today so I might have more coming up this week. Saturday is generally my post writing/blog planning day, but I lost that time today. So I apologize in advance for what may be some scattered thoughts and lack of comments on this week’s Sunday Posts.
