How I Organize Following Other Blogs

The hardest thing for me when I was a new blogger was figuring out how to organize following other blogs, and commenting on blogs, both my own and others. I used to use Google Reader and then it went by the wayside and I struggled for a bit to find my footing again. There are lots of services and software out there to help you organize your feeds, but none of them seem to be exactly what I’m looking for. Once I identified my favorite bloggers, I subscribed to their posts via email. I’m fairly discriminating about who I follow. I follow bloggers who reciprocate comments/blog promotion or post content I’m interested in. I’m not afraid, after following a blogger for a few months, to unsubscribe. Behind the Curtain: My Blogging Routine, Part Deux

Last week, I shared my blogging routine which is a post I had scheduled before Brittany over at Book Bumblings issued her Be a Better Blogger Challenge for February. Once the February Challenge was up, I thought, “Well, I have a routine. I have that post scheduled there’s nothing I need to do.” But as I read her posts, I started to feel the need to improve my routine. There are things I do every week that are just in my head and I often wish I could keep track of those things. Is my Google spreadsheet the BEST way for me to keep track my reviews? After looking at some the Editorial Calendar Tools that Brittany presented, I have decided to pair my Google spreadsheet with Trello. My Google spreadsheet will be an overview of my editorial calendar and Trello will be the step-by-step things I need to do each week.
